Fermanagh Camino Launch

Fermanagh Camino Circle

The first-ever Fermanagh Camino was officially launched at the historic Enniskillen Castle, marking the beginning of a new and meaningful Camino (walk) through the Fermanagh Lakelands. Organiser Phil McGrenaghan from Cancer Connect NI shared that the event is close to his heart, as it will raise funds for the charity’s vital work supporting those affected by cancer.

The launch was attended by sponsors and partners including Encirc, Future Renewables, McGovern Estate Agents, Lough Erne Pilgrim Way, Manor House Country Hotel, Krazy Coffee and Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism. Their presence underscored the importance of this new event in fostering community connection, remembrance, and support for those in need across the region.

Phil McGrenaghan, Organiser said ‘ “The Fermanagh Camino is more than just a walk; it’s a journey of reflection, resilience, and community. This event is very close to my heart because it offers people a space to carry their personal stories and struggles, while coming together to support Cancer Connect NI’s work for those affected by cancer.”

“Fermanagh as the setting for the Camino is in my opinion, the perfect place to experience such a journey. The beautiful scenery, rich heritage, and deep history of this landscape make every step meaningful. Walking here isn’t just about the physical journey—it’s about connecting with something bigger, with nature, history, and each other.”

Mark Conway, Communications & PR Manager at Encirc, shared his enthusiasm: “Encirc is delighted to be supporting the inaugural Fermanagh Camino in aid of Cancer Connect NI. This will be a tremendous cross-border event that will bring people together in a meaningful way while raising vital monies for Cancer Connect NI, who do so much good work in this community. At Encirc, we like to support community events with a purpose that will make a real difference to people, and we look forward to the success and impact of the Fermanagh Camino.”
